Funeral Parade of Roses (1969)

I just watched this movie and it aaalmost single-handedly kicks the collective french new wave cinema in its sexy, cigarette-smoking balls.

Deals pretty heavily with transsexuality, which is hard to contest with a couple of attractive and charming French people acting quirky while Jean-Luc Godard twirls behind the camera.

The playfulness and utilization of all dimensions in this are on the level of The Holy Mountain, and just such fucked-upedness by the end, tragedy and comedy entwined, that it feels like a 60s Oldboy.
